PROJECTS

PROJECTS

Bunker Renovations

During the fall of 2018, Maroon Creek Club underwent a course-wide bunker renovation. All 82 bunkers were upgraded with better Billy Bunker and premium white bunker sand. This renovation has improved playability and enhanced the aesthetic value of the golf course. It was a pleasure overseeing the construction of this project which included removal of the old sand and liner, reshaping, Better Billy Bunker installation, and the addition of new sand.

Irrigation and Fairway/Tee Renovation

In 2014 Maroon Creek Club began a significant golf course renovation, which entailed the installation of a new Rainbird irrigation system, extensive drainage additions, and re-grassing and leveling of 26 acres of tees and fairways. The new irrigation system has allowed for a reduction of 29 million gallons of water annually. The addition of newer cultivars of Bentgrass and Kentucky bluegrass has allowed for fast and firm playing conditions and significant reductions in winter damage due to snow molds. Overseeing all pre-plant soil amendments during this project has provided me with the experience to remediate challenging soil conditions and provide excellent growing conditions.

USGA Green Construction and Management

In the Fall of 2012, Maroon Creek Club replaced and recontoured the 17-year-old Poa annua greens with USGA construction spec T1 Bentgrass greens. Managing Poa free greens allows for an incredibly true putting surface with increased greens speeds. Our USGA spec greens have increased member satisfaction and playability. From construction to planting to long-term management, I have a thorough understanding of the intricacies involved with USGA greens constructions.

Driving Range Renovation

Spring of 2019 at Maroon Creek Club we broke ground on our Tom Fazio designed driving range. This included recontouring of 13 target greens and 10 bunkers. The driving range at Maroon Creek Club provides a target for every club in your bag. I was fortunate to oversee the sand-based greens construction, extensive drainage additions, and irrigation modification which has allowed for a world-class driving range.

Cart Path Renovation

Spring of 2021 the Club underwent a course-wide asphalt path replacement project. This include the installation of root barrier on troubled areas and complete resurfacing of all eighteen holes.

Club House Recreating Pool Renovation

Spring of 2021 the Club underwent a course-wide asphalt path replacement project. This include the installation of root barrier on troubled areas and complete resurfacing of all eighteen holes.
