PROFILE

Born and raised in the landscapes of Colorado, Brett K. Klahr discovered his passion for golf and the outdoors early in life — a passion that has shaped a distinguished career in golf course management at some of the state's most demanding terrain.

Brett's foundation in turfgrass science was built at Pennsylvania State University's College of Agricultural Sciences, one of the foremost agronomy programs in the country. That academic grounding launched a career marked by continuous innovation and measurable results.

Since joining Maroon Creek Club in Aspen, Brett has risen through every level of agronomic leadership to his current role as Director of Agronomy. Under his stewardship, MCC's 18-hole Tom Fazio-designed course — ranked #5 in Colorado by Golf Digest and #75 among Platinum Clubs of America's top 150 country clubs — has undergone transformational renovation projects spanning irrigation, drainage, turfgrass, and infrastructure.

His commitment to environmental stewardship has earned recognition from Audubon International, reflecting a management philosophy that treats elite playing conditions and ecological responsibility as complementary — not competing — goals.
